Annrai has a strong history founding and leading successful companies. His role as CEO is rooted in a deep industry knowledge, backed by years of leadership, technical innovations, and successfully aligned teams.
Prior to co-founding Utmost, Annrai served as European CTO at Workday, where he held several positions in both Product and Sales since becoming part of the team in 2008.
Annrai was also instrumental in founding IONA Technologies in 1991, where he operated as Director and CTO, playing a key role in the organization’s eventual IPO in 1997. He later became co-founder and CEO of Cape Clear Software, an integration middleware company, which Workday acquired in 2008.
Annrai received a BA, BAI in Computer Engineering as well as an MSc in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin. During his post-graduate program, he was a research assistant in the Department of Computer Science, where he lectured for 4 years and worked on EU funded projects regarding distributed and parallel computing.
Cto and co-founder
Paddy brings a high level of technical sophistication and leadership to our engineering team, and has a seasoned background propelling organizations to success via their technological initiatives.
Before Utmost, Paddy was CTO for EMEA & VP of Engineering for Groupon, where he was responsible for the global data engineering as well as driving major improvements in uptime and reliability throughout the entire product offering. He also initiated and ran the global Engineering Excellence program, which streamlined and simplified Groupon’s global path to production for customer value-added feature sets.
Paddy began his tenure as an engineering leader at IONA Technologies, where he first met Utmost co-founder, Annrai O’Toole. While at Irish Telco startup, NewBay, he led product engineering, building a successful white label User-Generated Content solutions to companies like Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile.
Paddy received a 1st class honors degree in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin.
Coo and co-founder
Dan is a proven leader in software and people management, bringing a long history of successful endeavors, flagship initiatives, as well as an incredible depth of knowledge to his role as COO.
Prior to Utmost, Dan was a former SVP and senior management team member at Workday, holding several leadership roles—including head of the Workday Cloud Platform, head of product management and strategy for Workday’s core technology platform, head of global product marketing, services marketing, competitive intelligence, and industry go-to-market efforts.
Dan started his career at Accenture, where he developed custom applications and implemented enterprise software suites, before becoming a product manager for eCommerce and CRM company, North Systems. He later found a home at Intuit, serving various product management roles and working on the market-leading QuickBooks™product. He continued to provide his organizational leadership for Voltage Security, a data encryption provider that was acquired by HP.
Dan received an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and a BA in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
