David Petroni


Dave joined Utmost in the fall of 2019 having served in multiple executive leadership positions in the enterprise software space.  He has a proven track record in general management, corporate finance, strategy, and business development. 

Prior to joining Utmost, Dave led Bishop Peak Advisors, LLC, a boutique M&A advisory firm which he founded in 2014.  Dave was also the vice president of business development at Workday, a leading provider of cloud-based enterprise software, where he oversaw Workday's global partner ecosystem and corporate development activities. Before joining Workday, Dave was the senior vice president of corporate development at Activant Solutions, Inc., a PE-backed entity which he helped merge and integrate into Epicor Software in 2011. Earlier in his career, Dave was chief financial officer for Valchemy, Inc. (sold to IBM in 2006); vice president of corporate development at PeopleSoft (where he led its 2003 acquisition of JD Edwards); and vice president of finance and corporate development for OnDisplay, Inc. (which was acquired by Vignette in 2000). He has also held senior business development and finance roles at GE Information Services (subsequently renamed GXS and acquired by OpenText) and National Semiconductor.  

Dave holds an MBA with honors from Georgetown University. He earned undergraduate degrees in political science and agricultural managerial economics from the University of California, Davis.
